A source claims Gilgo Beach killer will be charged with a fourth murder

A source indicated Sunday that Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann will be charged with a fourth homicide.

Suffolk County's district attorney says Heuermann will appear Tuesday. ABC and CBS reported the news from numerous sources.

The district attorney indicated in a news release that “a significant development in the investigation” will be announced following the hearing.

Heuermann, an architectural consultant from Massapequa Park, New York, has been accused with killing three women found bound with belts or tape and wrapped in burlap on Long Island's Gilgo Beach in 2010.

He faces three first-degree murder charges for killing Melissa Barthelemy in 2009 and Megan Waterman and Amber Costello in 2010, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. His plea is not guilty.
