Jaire Alexander, Christian Watson are active for Packers vs. Cowboys

In today's NFC wild-card matchup against the Cowboys, the Packers will be without receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (ankle). The status report on Friday cast doubt on both players.

After rolling his ankle during Wednesday's jog-through, Alexander suffered a "freak" injury. Thursday and Friday were not practice days for him.

Alexander is crucial for the Packers as they aim to contain CeeDee Lamb, an All-Pro receiver.

Due to a shoulder injury and a one-game ban for declaring himself captain of the Carolina game and almost messing up the coin toss, Alexander was unable to participate in all but seven games.

Watson is back in the lineup after an injury sidelined him for five games. Over the course of nine games this season, he has hauled in 28 passes for 422 yards AND five scores.

Offense lineman Caleb Jones, running back AJ Dillon (thumb, neck), cornerback David Long Jr., safety Benny Sapp III, receiver Malik Heath, and linebacker Brenton Cox Jr. are all listed as inactive for the Packers.

Cooper Rush, the Cowboys' backup quarterback, will play in Saturday's game despite missing Friday and Saturday's sessions due to sickness.

Asim Richards, Matt Waletzko, Jalen Brooks, Eric Scott, Junior Fehoko, Tyrus Wheat, Trey Lance, and the Cowboys' offensive and defensive lines will not play in this game. In case of injury, Lance will play third quarterback.
