Liam Coen is being considered by the Bears for the position of offensive coordinator that is currently vacant.
Jonathan Jones of CBS reports that the Bears, who dismissed offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and other offensive coaches this week,
are planning to do an interview with Coen. The Bears also fired other offensive assistants.
Coen, who is 38 years old, is now serving as the offensive coordinator at the University of Kentucky. He previously held this position in the years 2021 and 2023.
Between their two tenure, he served as the offensive coordinator for the Rams in the year 2022. In the year 2020, he was also the coach of the Rams' quarterbacks, and in the years 2018 and 2019, he served as the assistant coach of the wide receivers.
In the National Football League, young coaches who have connections to Sean McVay continue to receive a large number of job interviews.
Currently, the most important thing for Bears head coach Matt Eberflus is to find someone to fill the position of offensive coordinator. In the near future, the Bears will make a choice that will have a significant impact on their franchise.
They will decide whether they will continue to utilize Justin Fields as their franchise quarterback or if they will spend the first overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft to choose a quarterback.
