Despite so much fundraising travel, Biden campaign officials sought to moderate expectations. In December, they anticipated raising $67 million in 2023's fourth quarter, commensurate with recent Democratic candidates' end-of-the-off-year totals.

Trump's campaign raised $46 million in the fourth quarter of 2019 and had $102.7 million before losing to Biden in 2020, however its combined war chest with the Republican National Committee was far larger.
