All six personnel on a Navy helicopter that crashed off Southern California Thursday night survived, military authorities said.
Officials said the collision occurred near Coronado, a tourist area on a bay peninsula south of downtown San Diego.
Commander Beth Teach of Naval Air Station North Island told USA TODAY that an MH-60R Helicopter Maritime Strike squadron 41 crashed in San Diego Bay at 6:40 p.m.
It added "due to the nature of the training, a safety boat was on location" and federal firemen rescued all six crew members.
Officials say all six passengers had non-life-threatening injuries and were evaluated Thursday night.
