On Thursday, U.S. airplanes, ships, submarines, and British fighters struck Iranian-backed Houthi rebels who have been shooting hundreds of drones and missiles into Red Sea commerce channels.
The U.S. engagement in Israel's Gaza battle has increased significantly with the attacks. Since late November, they followed the 27th Houthi strike Thursday.
The Pentagon has also bombed Iranian-backed terrorists in Iraq and Syria who assault U.S. forces with rockets in recent weeks.
"Today, at my direction, U.S. military forces – together with the United Kingdom and with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands – successfully conducted strikes,
against a number of targets in Yemen used by Houthi rebels to endanger freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most vital waterways," Biden said in the evening.
President stated the international community's response to Houthi strikes was "united and resolute." After the U.S.-led air attacks,
Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, and the UK pledged solidarity.
While the Biden administration has tried to limit Middle East warfare to Gaza, Iranian-backed factions have expanded their attacks.
